Sebatical is OVER!!!

Yep I am back. Really no excuses, I guess just LAZY! But I just added a few posts about a few of the things that we have been up to. I had a hard time remebering, so I just did the majors. I have missed checking on all of you!

Prescott, AZ

We have taken several trips to Prescott, but just this last weekend we picked up Connor and Brenna from Mesa, and then had some fun in Prescott. We went to Lynx Lake and did the paddle boats, i fried my knees, boo hoo! We also went to a rescue zoo. I don't know what happened to my animal pictures, but we were the closest I have ever been to a tiger. It just layed there, right by the fence and looked at us, 3 feet away. Awesome animal! We had a blast with Connor and Bren. The weather was beautiful, monsoon rains, it was gorgeous!

Dani, sweet 16!!!!!

On July 7, 1993, (yes I feel like I've typed this somewhere before!) my first beautiful girl was born. We were able to take Dani to dinner at Buca di Beppo in Mesa on her birthday. It was a little difficult for me, not having her like we normally do, and having cake, etc., but Bryce and I, and Dani went and had a fun time. She is a fun girl, and I am so grateful for her and love her so very much. Here are 16 things that are awesome about Dani!

1. She has attitude!
2. She is sensitive to hurt feelings.
3. Hard worker.
4. She was my first live Barbie doll, I changed her clothes constantly!
5. Loves her family
6. Is willing to work hard on projects.
7. Very healthy lungs.
8. Should enter the national Belching contest, top 5 I bet!
9. One of the fastest texters I know!
10. I loved having her climb on my bed and just visit.
11. I miss her a lot!
12. I love it when she speaks French!
13. I will always be willing to give you a "high pony" Dani!
14. She is a great help to her Dad.
15. Is usually quick to smile, and willing to help out.
16. She is making good decisions, and has a testimony.

Love her very much!

Brenna is 14, oh my!

On June 12, 1995, Brenna Jean Kizzar blessed this world, and we celebrated her 14th birthday right here in 2009. We had a blast. She had her first real boy/girl birthday party, and they were all a blast. Considering she turned 14, and I can't believe it, I felt I would write 14 things that are special about her!
1. She has the most incredible smile!
2. She was the most relaxed and easy going baby, and still is (a baby that is-- just kidding!)
3. Fairly low maintenance.
4. Obedient, most of the time!
5. Sensitive to others
6. Tender heart
7. A smile is usually just around the corner.
8. Willing to try new things.
9. Great soccer player.
10. Loves her family
11. Great worker
12. Loves a good book
13. Is very thankful
14. Has a testimony
I just want to tell a sweet story about Brenna. When I was off having Connor, she was staying with my very good friend. My friend was struggling to have children at the time, and was a little sad and happy about Connor being born. Brenna, 2 1/2 yrs old, was sitting on her lap and asked her what was wrong, my friend explained to her, and Brenna said, "It's ok Tandy, I be your baby!" Sweet, sweet little girlie. I am very grateful for her and love her very much, she is a special blessing!!

So thankful for friends.....

I just wanted to blog about some wonderful things, well not things, but people. My friends. I have much to be grateful for, and I so appreciated everyones pick me ups! No judgements, just sweetness. Thank you. You listen on in writing, on the phone, and in person. Thank you. Plus I needed to have a different topic pop up, out with the old in with the new! As I have said to many of you, thank goodness for new days. I love you all, and appreciate your loving service!

Don't bother!

No worries, crappy attitude, don't read my next blog entry!!! This is my disclaimer!

Just plain Frustrated!

And that would would be putting it mildly, nicely, whatever. Part of me questions why in the world I am blogging this, but the other part just says "whatever!" I have to question just where I am. What place am I at right now. Yesterday was Mother's Day right? I am so very grateful and thankful for my mom, but I do not feel appreciated, nor do I feel worthy of that appreciation. In church Bishop John Manis gave the most beautiful talk. Said some of the most wonderful, eloquent things. Many wonderful tributes. But as I sat there, I did not feel better or wonderful. I felt very unworthy of the thoughts spoken about, but I think most of all very inadequate and know I am not doing those things to be deserving of such praise. I am tired of my weaknesses, failures. I look at our children and some of the things we are dealing with and wonder where did I go so wrong? Why was I trusted with them to just fail? I know some of it is they are teenagers. But all of it can not be. The dynamics in our family are unique, but whose aren't? My expectations, are they too high? How do I lower and not feel resentful? I want so much to enjoy being with my family and for them to enjoy me, but it feels like we have so many things working against us. It feels like such a constant barage of things. I am supposed to love all of the children, but things keep happening to hinder that. Example: (boy you're getting an ear full today!) Thieves. Can't cut their hand off if you can't catch them or they won't admit it, or the money gets taken somewhere else, so you can't see if it's being spent. $100 worth of change taken out of our emergency change jar. What would you do? My hair is gray and getting thin. My folded tithing money, $20, taken out of my wallet. Bryce is overwhelmed and saddened, ditto for me. I fear I am losing sight of why our family is important. Am i really? I have all of the right answers, know them, just don't feel all of them all the time. Alot of this was just venting, no worries, just a frustrating day yesterday, and disappointing. Oh well, new days abound!

Playing Catch-up!

Once again, I'm not on the ball, I'm underneath it! Haven't even been on here, shame shame!!! First off I thought I would tell you all I had my free session with Emily that I won. It was awesome. I don't usually win contests, so it started off very exciting. Emily is wonderful. I was very comfortable on my bed, sprawled, (is that a word? Or maybe it is not spelled right!) Basically it is a lot of positive reinforcement on energies that are fuzzy or have negativity with them, Emily set me straight if I am wrong. She helped reinforce positive thoughts and feelings. I think I could definately go for a few more sessions, I am a tad, ok not a tad, crazy and kind of wacky, but she was wonderful. There were several times things hit very close to home and evoked some powerful feelings, (can I break into song?) I would say go for it, go have a session with Emily. I need to do it again!

Easter

Easter was very crazy. Bryce and I went out of town kind of impromptuly (is that a word?) My family was having a special dinner while my mom and brother from Idaho were there, on Saturday night. We were not going to go because of Easter on sunday and obligations. Dani was asked to go by my mom, but she didn't want to go without us. So she begged us to come down. I really want her to feel comfortable to do things with my family, so off we went on Friday, and drove back home on Saturday night. I got to bed after 2AM that's very late for me!!! I scrambled for singing time, oh my, put Easter baskets together, and went to bed. After church we had planned to have a non-member family of Bryce's over for Dinner. I cooked and cooked and cooked. It all turned out beautifully, except I miss having little ones!

April Fool's Day

Every April Fool's Day we do a special dinner. Usually we try and invite a different family over, one we don't know as well. This year I let the kids have a friend over. I make up funny names, 9 of them. Because we will have 3 courses of 3 things. Each person gets a piece of paper with these words on it. They number it in random order from 1-9. They each have a partner who gets their food for them. I then post the master list that has what each item really is:For the first course they get 1,2,and 3, and so on for each course. It is so funny when you have no silverware, because you don't get to keep anything from earlier courses, and you have to eat spaghetti, or eat your jello salad with your garlic bread because you have no silverware! We have a lot of fun with it, and it is a tradition. I didn't take pictures of anyone eating, though, they would've killed me!

Lake Tahoe, Incredible!

The end of March, yes I know I am running so very behind. Just didn't feel like getting on I guess. Any ways, I went to Tahoe with my sister-in-law, Korby. She had 2 nights 3 days from a timeshare thing. She asked me to go, I went. I had never been to Tahoe before. Oh my goodness, good golly miss molly!!! It was so beautiful. We didn't ski, no money. But we had fun just relaxing and being goofs! I took pictures on the way there of a few places along the way:
The color purple!
Hmmmmmm!
Carson City, the capital!
This is where we stayed!
Oh My!
Korby, my sister-in-law!
Yep, that's me!
Love those Blues Brothers!

We had a wonderful time and it was gorgeous weather!!! Oh I took these pictures of some really cool clouds on the way home:

Great Movie!!

Bryce and I watched this movie the other night! Awesome movie. Sometimes cheesy acting, etc, but the message is incredible. We loved it. I definately want to own this one. Plus I have lots to work on in my marriage. It is about a couple and what has happened to them over the years and their bad habits, and how they try to figure it all out! Rent it from blockbuster!

Frugal, Cheap anyone?

Ok, I was watching FOX news this morning. I know, I know I try not to do it very often. I let others tell me the whozee whatsits, and goingson. But there I was. They were talking to a lady who is known as the frugal queen more or less. She was talking about different things she does to save money. Her musband is a stay at home dad, and they save anywhere from 25-50% of her check every month and put it aside for when things get rough. She boils her coffee in a pot and uses paper towels for filters, instead of real coffee filters. That's a rough one for me, ya know, I think the coffee filters are what make my coffee, and they're so cute!

Any then they were talking about what everyone does to save a buck. So I thought I would see what all of you do to be a little frugal, to cut a few corners, etc. Any ideas?!!!!!!!!!!

Looking For Miracles!

A few days ago my friend Sheral gave me a challenge. I wanted to turn and run the other way, but I said ok! She said, "Today we must look for a miracle." Hmmmm, I said, okeedokee! I said I would, and we reported the next morning. I thought about it some, but not real intensely. At a few different times it popped into my head, any miracles? Nope!

Then I received a phone call from Dani, my daughter who is living in Mesa with her Dad. That in itself is a miracle, she never calls, I have to call her! But there have been some issues about her health. A little scare that she might have been having some kidney problems. Her father has had three kidney transplants, so I was a little, ok quite a bit, worried. She had very high blood pressure and back pain. Her dad finally took her in, and she called me after the appt. Everything checked out as far as her kidneys! Her muscles were working over time in her back because of a slight curvature. I was very relieved. So there was my miracle, because I was sure that it was major, because of the history with her dad, I was wrong. A wonderful, sweet, tender mercy from a loving father in Heaven. Then I was talking to my friend Toni, and told her about it, and she said she thought that would be such a good thing to try and do every day. Find at least one miracle, every day. Can we do it? I am going to try, I need to stay more positive, even when I am PMSing!!!!! What about you guys????

“There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.” Albert Einstein

I'm gonna Be Famous!!!

This was so much fun, all thanks to Michelle Harris! I just created my very first CD album. Well actually Brenna and I created it, I needed some serious help! So Michelle, here it is!

Here are the instructions on how to do it!

1. Go to wikipedia's "random" page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random article is the name of your band.

2. Go to Quotations Page's "random quotations"
http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last few words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your album.

3. Go to Flickr and click "explore last seven days"
http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
The third picture no matter what, will be your album cover.

4. Use photoshop or http://www.picnik.com/, to put it all together. Can't wait to see!

They do Grow Up!

I have really struggled at times with my children, (really, duh). They grow up so fast and I feel like I don't get it. I miss them being little and sweet. I was making dinner last night and I told Connor he couldn't play the xbox, I was sick of it. So he ran around playing like he was on a secret reconnaisance mission, (hilarious - PVC gun and all).

Then he comes into the kitchen and is watching me get started to make tortillas. I told him I remembered how he used to sit on the counter and help me stir and add things. He hopped up on the counter and proceeded to help. I think it was therapeutic for us both. Funny guy!!!

Get Away!!!!!!!

I am so slow at getting things up! Bryce wanted to "get away" for Valentine's Weekend. So it all kind of worked out. We took my kids and met their dad so they could see him, and I got to see Dani also, so that was good.

Bryce got us set up in a little bed and breakfast called, Prescott Pines. I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, so this was pretty exciting for me. I had no idea that breakfast meant you really have a time to be there and sit at a table with others who are staying there. We met people from California and Phoenix. It was very quaint and fun. If I had been on the ball I would have really made up a fun story for Bryce and I, but then I would have had to remeber it everytime we saw anyone. But I could have said something like this when he introduced me, "What, you have a wife!"

Isn't he so very cute?
There was a lot of snow from earlier in the week, so we couldn't really do any hiking, but we walked around downtown Prescott, right down Whiskey Row, (oooooooh, are you gonna tell my mom!?) We had fun with each other just hanging out. Chocolate covered strawberries on Valentine's, and I won't continue on, okeedokee!!! I felt horribly guilty about missing our church again, third week in a row for me because of my Grandma's passing, but we did go to church on Sunday in Cottonwood. Don't you just love getting away when it is a good get away? Because I have definately had some bad get aways. What about you guys? Any good any bad?????

Blast from the Past!!

Whew! Got back from Idaho Monday night. Went through some scary snow storms, three to be exact. Those pictures are on my phone and I don't know how to get those from there to here. Baby steps remember? I was antsy to get home, and then I get home and wonder why was I so anxious to get here? Am I just one of those people who are never satisfied?! While I was in Idaho I glanced thorugh a few pictures my mom had out. Grabbed a few and thought I'd let you see a few. Kind of fun! I don't think any of my children look like me though!
